On January 30, 2023, the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board issued a decision denying institution of Inter Partes Review on behalf of G&S client Smart Mobile Technologies LLC. The decision was issued in IPR2022-01223, filed by Apple, concerning Smart Mobile’s U.S. Patent No. 9,319,075. G&S co-founding partner Phil Graves principally represented Smart Mobile in the matter. G&S is concurrently representing Smart Mobile in pending litigation against Apple and Samsung alleging infringement of the ‘075 patent as well as other Smart Mobile patents.
